My micro-pupz play every day with my macro-pupz in my playground.
They have so much fun together, and especially Yaz´Yarkova´s Flickering Firefox is a super playmate for the smaller ones :)
 

To all our friends....

       Imagine what it´s like sleeping with these two :) ....

.... and this I do the first nights. How many nights depend on the pups reaction to their environment-change. I strongly believe that creating happy, confident, trusting pups by giving them this loving and caring start in their new home is SO important. So we "sleep" ( watch out for eyelashes, nose, ears and other disposable items ... :)) on a mattress in the kitchen, until they are ready and happy to sleep in their dogyard. During daytime they are mostly outside - learning lots and lots of new stuff every day. This morning they met Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya, Yaz´Yarkova´s Slithering Slowfox and Yaz´Yarkova´s Flickering Firefox. A liiiitle too much for them to cope.... but we did all the same manage to make it a good experience!

Frost 'n' fun Jubilee Jewel and Frost 'n' fun Juice moved in today :)
They stay partly indoor for a while so I can create bonds to them, and to make the transition less hard on them.
Axia´s Baquette is auntie for them.

	Notice Juice´s colour !! I love reddish dogs, so in this matter she is a complete dream come true - and I am very convinced that she will run VERY WELL dispite it ;)

Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya, Yaz´Yarkova´s Slithering Slowfox and Yaz´Yarkova´s Flickering Firefox most
often get their breakfast served in a pedagogical way.
The two pups are VERY skilled in making food come out of any container !!

	This morning they were playing with their "pyramids". Pyramids contain a heavy material in the bottom, wich makes them sway back into vertical position when pushed around. The pups simply love this way of feeding, and it gives them great stimulation of mind and body. I can´t recommend it enough :)

I have been in Särna for 4 days fixing the last few things before winter.
Mating Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya with Coldfeet Fox has given me a new challenge in my life, as Fox´offspring
seem to think they are born to climb :)
So my main task was to build a removable "roof" for their dogyard.
I have to be able to unmount it, when I leave my house as the snow might crash it, if I don´t....

The snow has allready come to Särna... not a lot of it, but it most certainly was there !!

Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya, Yaz´Yarkova´s Slithering Slowfox and Yaz´Yarkova´s Flickering Firefox spend the days at
Kennel Frost 'n' Fun having lots and lots of fun playing with their half-sisters Q and Safir.

Finally training has started here at Kennel Yaz´Yarkova....

There have been a few obstacles this year ( as nearly every year :( ) ....

First of all Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya has become sick again.
3½ years ago she had a period with limping and fever - we at that time concluded, that it was a tick borne disease and treated
it as such with sucess.
Now that it has come back, we more believe that it is a rheumatic arthritis of idiopatic origin ....
Bottomline is, that I might have to accept not to put her in training this year.
I really don´t know how to manage without her - she is my best dog ever and as such indispensable in my team!!!!
( Allthough it might turn out as a "benefit" for us all, as I´m now forced to find a lead substitute among my younger dogs.... )

Yaz´Yarkova´s Zcirocco has also turned ill :(
Last year he had a toe that popped out of joint, when he made a sharp turn.
We at that time chose to remove the toe, and he ran splendid without it.
Now another toe on the same paw does the same ....

I decided to try to put him on the team today anyway....
He is a VERY energetic male, and I fear I´ll have to put him down, if he cannot run.
He ran well, and the toe did not cause any problem.
Apparently it´s no problem to run in a team, where no sharp turns are made.
I hope, that training will strengthen his ligaments and solve the problem.
He is my strongest male and always on my racing team, so loosing Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya AND him would be unbearable!
 

When I go to Sweden every winter to train my dogs on snow, I try to keep the speed down in the initial fase of my training.
Running on snow is quite a different thing than running on dirtroad, and I have to slow the speed down to prevent injuries
on the dogs, until they are used to the new underlayer.
This I achieve by adding weight to the sled by putting bags of dogfood in the sledbag.
It works quite well, but last winter I partly ruined my Danler sled by "overdoing" the trick ... :(

So I realised, that I had to get an alternative and have bought myself a new toboggan from Sawtooth Sleds

I can highly reccommend Odin Jorgensen - he is a very pleasant person to deal with, and his sleds are of very high quality!
( And as a minor bonus, the low value of the USD makes it possible these days to get a good bargin :) )
I got aquainted with his sleds 3 years ago, and there was no doubt in my mind, where I wanted to buy my toboggan!

.... and now I even have a good sled, if I ever pull myself together and go for longer distances ....

I have started puppycless now with Yaz´Yarkova´s Slithering Slowfox and Yaz´Yarkova´s Flickering Firefox.
They behave very well, and they learn to socialize with other puppies of various breeds - VERY important considering
that we often meet other breeds in the forest during training!

Are You OK Auntie Galina ??

This week my pups are 12 weeks old - time goes much too fast!

Ailica´s Graceful Galina has turned out to be my best auntie ever :)

She is SO sweet and patient, and the pups LOVE her and Mum fully accepts her as the only playmate for her pups.

Today we said goodbye to Setzoniaze´s Effendi.

He has been sick for quite a while with cronic ideopatic diarrhea, but his spirit and love of life has been high until now.
The last month or so he more and more often had a loss of appetite, and he began to show signs of unhappiness, so
now I decided to give him peace.
I am very gratefull to you Fendi and to your long gone brother Eyko for all the great moments
you two wonderful dogs shared with me!
I THANK YOU BOTH!!

I´ve just returned from a prolonged weekend i my house in Sweden :)

I went up to build two new dogyards and assemble 5 new doghouses.
My usual indoor dogs ( Coverdale´s Karima and Ailica´s Graceful Galina  and Malou + Huskygården´s Lonyo )
accompagnied me - a very nice but busy weekend!

Yaz´Yarkova´s Flickering Firefox and Yaz´Yarkova´s Slithering Slowfox are now 9 weeks young,
and from tonight they stay outdoor at nights also ://

New pictures of my WONDERPUPS below:

I´m SO amazed with my two little WONDERPUPS!!
They now - at age 7 weeks - stay outdoor most of the day playing and having great fun.
They have had their debut as car drivers ( passengers :)) making no fuzz at all....
They are allready skilled harness users - going for small walks every day.
Whimpering about pain is ABSOLUTELY unknown for them - they are VERY tough like their mother :)
NOTHING seems new and frightening for them - they are AMAZING!!

And Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya is the best mother ever!!!!
She is very protective and sees to that nothing or nobody can harm them.

Socializing puppies is the most important task one has as a breeder!!
I try my best to let my puppies get acquainted with whatever, they will meet later on in life, and today two very sweet children
payed their visit here - much to the puppies joy!!

I´m really in love with my two darling-pups!!

They have SUPER temperaments - VERY outgoing and selconfident!
They have nice upright ears and SO MUCH COLOUR - their pigmentation is super!
Maybe they will develope long beautiful :) hair like uncle Callisto - maybe....

Flickering Firefox is now rapidly catching up with Slithering Slowfox.

I´m beginning to make them used to being outdoor in their dogyard now - they stay there every day
in an increasing amount of time.
Yaz´ Yarkova´s Zaffaraya is nearly wellcome now, allthough Zavarinya is VERY warning in her attitude!

	It´s very hard to imagine that these two came out of their mother 5½ weeks ago .... They are still having cosy moments drinking Mums milk - but solid food is their main nutrition now. Mum and pups are fed Hill´s Science Plan Growth - I feed them Ad libitum, and this seems to give a very healthy attitude towards eating!

I sold them to kennel Cassidy 3½ years ago, as they were in need for more dogs.
Now Anja and Jesper have decided to sell them....

Naturally I undertake my responsibility and buy them back, and they will stay here for the rest of their lives.

... 4 days later than big sister Yaz´Yarkova´s Slithering Slowfox.
He is all in all much slower in his developement than sister - I believe he is from a later mating than her.
All the same: within the next 24 hours they will both increase their weight to
4 times their birthweight ( 14 days old/young tomorrow ... ) !!!
I sure will have to put gaffatape on some of Zavarinya´s tits soon to prevent obesity ;)

Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya does NOT accept her sisters presence in the kitchen!!
I let them meet outdoor every day in the playground for a short while - Zavarinya is much too fond of her pups for a longer stay - and within a couple of weeks I will try to take Zaffaraya indoor again if Zavarinya accepts it.

Yaz´Yarkova´s Slithering Slowfox and Yaz´Yarkova´s Flickering Firefox are growing with an impressive speed!
50 % weightgain within the first 72 hours :)

The last two days have been veeeery long.
Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya started giving birth two days ago - and then stopped - and then she started again - and then
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING happened for a while ..............
During this fase sister was still wellcome :)

Today at noon she decided to do the job.

Sister was asked to take the highway or somewhere even worse, so I took her outside during the birth.

After 5 tough hours Yaz´Yarkova´s Slithering Slowfox was born - a sparkling black female with just a
teeny weeny bit of white and tawn to complete her beauty :)

40 minutes later her brother Yaz´Yarkova´s Flickering Firefox joined her.
Aguti (?) male with even less white than sister - a bit smaller but not less wonderful!

Alas - little brother Yaz´Yarkova´s Frosty Foxtrot was still-born one hour later
- it seems that he had died within the last 24 hours :(
He was VERY small and he probably would not have survived any way - a sad sad ending of a happy story!
Mum and pups are well allthough tired :)
 

Puppies birthday coming very close now - Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya can start any day now :)
X-ray yesterday showed three puppies - really a PERFECT number considering I will keep them all!
I have chosen to bring her sister Yaz´Yarkova´s Zaffaraya into the house also - the two are VERY closely attached, and
I will leave it to Zava to tell me when to remove Zaffa - a quite exciting experiment, and my hope is that
Auntie Zaffa will be allowed to join this little new family all the way .... we will see.

Home again ....
Just been on a very small summer holiday in my wonderful house in Sweden.
My friend Dina and her afghan hound Mufti came with us.
I brought with me Coverdale´s Karima and Ailica´s Graceful Galina and of course my little mother-to-be
Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya and her sister Yaz´Yarkova´s Zaffaraya.

We really had a nice time up there - allthough I think it was much too short a stay :(

We went to Frankfurt to exhibit Coverdale´s Karima and Ailica´s Graceful Galina at the German Borzoi Klub´s main
exhibition.
SO MANY BORZOIS :)

My girls were very sweet and patient in spite of DREADFUL weather - it rained and rained and we all got soaking wet!

We got no super results, and the critics I have not seen yet, as we had to drive home, as soon as we were finished
in the show ring.
I met three of Galina´s siblings and of course Astrid Wolf - nice!
Astrid Wolf won the show dubble, as her stunning Ailica´s Caja-Chadee ( Galina´s mother ) won the breed AND the show,
and her impressive Ailica´s Chamberlain got BOS - WOW what a victory - CONGRATULATIONS Astrid!!!!

Today I went to the Danish Siberian Husky Klub´s exhibition in Fjellerad.
I brought with me IGAIS Tassar Zorba Sundance. and she did a very good job :)
She got Excellent and Best Open Class Female.

Her beloved owner did allthough NOT do such a good job, as she got confused ( and pissed off ) - mistaking the female,
that beat Zorba in the certificat competition, for the open class female, that Zorba had beaten 5 minutes earlier.... Hmmmmmm mustsit myself down on my behind and STUDY AND LEARN the new rules .....
I apologize to the people, I took it out on :)
Anyway - IGAIS Tassar Zorba Sundance  did show, that she has high quality, and we will be back :)))

Realising that 3 out of my 4 best dogs turn 7 this year, I need to think of replacements now....

Yaz´Yarkova´s Zavarinya is THE CHOISE for me among all my females, despite the fact that she
will be quite an old first time mother....
She is an AMAZING sprintrace female, and I have finally given in to my desire of breeding her.

In my choise of male, I have decided to use Cold Feet Fox, who has proven himself as one of
the most skilled sprintrace males ever here in Denmark!

I deliberately chose a male related to Alka-Shan´s Callico, and this litter will be linebreeding on
this outstanding male.

We did the first mating today - the most easy and stressless mating I have ever experienced!

Zava just LOVED Fox at first sight and fully approved my choise :)

No puppies will be available from this litter.

Today Coverdale´s Karima got her Lure Coursing license after a SPLENDID solo-run :))  so now we are ready
for competition....

We went to the other part of Denmark today to show Coverdale´s Karima and Ailica´s Graceful Galina at
the Danish Kennel Klub´s exhibition in Hillerød.

What is more fun in the springtime than taking your huskies to a fenced "dog forest"?
This gives the dogs a possibility to run "free" and spend some energy, and it enables you to do
some obedience work - for instance teaching the dogs to come when you call ( under secure cirkumstances )....
....bring a LOT of saucy titbits :)

For quite a long time now, I´ve been thinking of doing this to the main part of my dogs.
Very few of them will ever be used in breeding, as I set a very high standard for this purpose.
Only brilliant dogs should be bred in my opinion!!

I hope to get less trouble during heat this way, and maybe a dog like Yaz´Yarkova´s Turbo Truffle will become more
focused and less self-promoting when kastrated.
I´m in doubt how much impact the operations will have on the dogs running desire, so this summer we will
koncentrate on the " non racing dogs " and the oldies.
 

Went to the danish kennel klub exhibition-training with IGAIS Tassar Zorba Sundance yesterday.

She really did quite well - was skilled in the standing position - but when ever we were to run, she did
was she always does: pulled and pulled like bloody h... as if she was pulling a sled in a Nordic Open race :)
She was a real qutie towards all the other dogs no matter what size or breed.

I will exhibit her a few times this summer, as I believe she is a VERY beautiful female Siberian Husky, who ALSO
is very efficient and skilled i harness!!
This season she actually placed herself among my Top 3 females....
 

Yesterday Galina had her Lure coursing debut.
As I had expected and hoped for, she was BRILLIANT!!
But even more important: she ran her second run together with Karima, and it was obvious, that this was what Karima
needs to get to love this sport - she ran as well as Galina - happy and eager!!

THIS HAS BEEN MY BEST WINTERHOLIDAY EVER!!!!

All my hopes and expectations were fullfilled.
My dogs THRIVED in their new surroundings - and so did I.
My house, the dogyards, the doghouses - everything was SUPER and this new way of spending my winter vacation
made me realize how tough the former vacations have been on me and my dogs!

My neighbouring Frost 'n' Fun Family gave me the warmest wellcome I could possibly hope for.
They guided and helped me optimally, and I warmly THANK THEM !!!!!

I should have compeeded at the WSA world championchips, but 2 out of 4 racingdogs had injuries that made them
unable to participate.
This was of course dissapointing - but all the same: the injuries are of no threat to the dogs future
wellbeing, and it has still been my Best Vacation EVER !!

Michael Frost did a splendid job at the race: 7. i four dog class!!!!
VERY well done - CONGRATULATIONS Michael - we expect more of that in the future :)
